We’re always looking for people to join us in helping improve Te Wairoa River. Whether you’re wanting advice on making your property more river-friendly or have spare time you’d like to contribute, please get in touch.
Our community nursery in Clevedon is maintained by volunteers, who collect and grow native plants from the local area from seed or seedlings. The nursery is located at 33 Clevedon-Papakura Road behind the green shade-cloth. Regular monthly volunteer sessions are also an opportunity to purchase plants to be planted in the Wairoa River catchment. All welcome – get in touch to find out when the next event will be held.
Pest Control Co-ordinator Lenny van Heugton is keen to hear from you about your pest control issues and how she can help with advice, information or supplies. Email her at pestcontrol@tewairoa.org.nz
In order to help upskill the community, Friends of Te Wairoa regularly holds interesting, practical workshops. These cover a range of topics from riparian planting to pest plant control and understanding soils. Keep an eye out on our emails and social media for upcoming events, or email info@tewairoa.org.nz for more information.
